Withing the same reflection I’ll also delved into the fear of judgement that often precludes men from becoming transparent and honest about their challenges. Men are not so different from women. We also hurt, experience fear and sometimes get confused about what to do in crises.

1. Secrets: A secret is like sweet poison, it kills quietly and softly. Many men have gone to their graves because thing they worked hard to hide the very thing that killed them. Statistics show that more men commit suicide than women, could the burden of secrets and the pressure of not living transparent, accountable lives contribute to this?

2. Sex: This has destroyed men for a long time. Men often struggle with extra-marital affairs, sexual perversions, addictions, masturbation and pornography. These often walk hand in hand with secrecy, together they form a web that traps men in complex sexual spirals that are almost impossible to come out of.

3. Spiritual Ignorance: Ignorance is not the lack of knowledge, but choosing not to know. Many men deal with God as though he is a troublesome, nosey neighbor and spiritual things as though they are fictitious elements. It is a catastrophe that men are dying having not blessed their children. Further, men are the Priests of the home yet they hardly/ever say a prayer in their houses. Majority of the struggles men have in their lives can be overcome through prayer! However, the awareness of God and the willingness to allow Him into the depths of our lives is wanting.
